We've had several of these. Turn the binder so that the little post the
ring used to go through is aimed down, so gravity is helping you. Shake
it or pop it against a counter and see if you can get the post to come out
enough for you to get a large paperclip through the hole. (We used a
little magnet once to entice the post out, when shaking, etc. didn't
work.) The paperclip will work pretty much as well as the ring
did, but I'd ask Bender for a new binder anyway. In a couple of our
sets, the new binders have been wider than the old ones we had been
trying to wedge closed for years.
