CD-ROM Use:Seeking input

I would like to get some input on the experiences librarians have had
with using CD-ROM products in a firm with between 60 - 100 attorneys.
Also if you have them on a network, especially a WAN. Specific
questions: Did you replace titles in print with the CD version? How
well (or not well) did the CD's work on a network? How much staff time -
for both library and MIS - does the technology demand? Did you find
equal success with heavily used sets (CFR, FED REP) on CD-ROM and less
used sets? If a partner came to you and said "Lets get rid of all the
reporters in book format and put everything on CD's for all the offices"
what would be your response? Thanks for your help in advance.
P.S. This is my first time sending a query out into the great beyond -
please forgive any gross errors.
