Hi all:
I've been asked to repost the transportation information for getting to
the University of Pittsburgh Law School from the convention center/hotel
area for the Academic Law Libraries SIS Reception:
The Barco Law Library is very easy to get to from the Convention Center
and hotels. The easiest route is to take the PAT bus. Any one of the
61's (61A, B, or C) or 71's (71 A, B, C, D) will take you to Oakland
(our neighborhood) in about 15 minutes. The buses can be picked up along 5th
Avenue, a 3 to 6 block walk from the convention center and hotels. Drop off
for the 61's is at Forbes Ave and Bouquet St, directly adjacent to the Law
School. Drop off for the 71's is at 5th Avenue and Oakland St, 2 blocks from
the law school. (Go down the hill 1 block to get to Forbes Ave, then 1
block to the left to get to the the Law School.) Look for the three round
towers (Pitt dorms) as a landmark, they are across the street from the Law
School. Bus fare is $1.25 each way - a dollar bill and a quarter are accepted
A cab ride is also easy and convenient, it will cost $7.00 to $9.00 for
up to 4 people. If you are driving, you'll find parking in Schenley
Plaza, 3 blocks west of the law building between Forbes Ave and Schenley Drive.
Also, we'll be offering tours of the Law Library during the reception.
Tours will leave every 10 minutes starting at 6:30 and run about 15
minutes. There will be a table in the elevator lobby where the tours
will start. During the tour we will be demonstraiting our new LAN and
our still-in-alpha-testing CD ROM Server. Hope you can make it. We can
accomodate about 150 people for tours (10 groups of 15.) Sign-ups will
be first come, first served.
Finally, I missed last night's weather report, but the morning drive time
DJ said, "It's gonna be hot and sticky today, and just keep getting
hotter and stickier!"
