Thanks, Judith, for taking time to write in support of the Washington
Affairs Office in DC. I, too, feel that it is one of the most important
advantages I receive from my membership in AALL. My firm pays my
membership and I think they get their reward for that by our committment
to working with and through the legislators to get legislation passed
that supports our legal information needs. Our attorneys are served well
by me keeping them informed about these issues. They now tend to come to
me and our library staff for current information on these topics. We are
served well by the current Washington Representative and the Assistant
who works with him. Let's ask the Board to look at reducing expense
there if they can find a way but not to eliminate our new found ability
to be in the forefront of information issues.
