Paula, I have been reading the messages concerning the use of post-its and
other sticky things to use as bookmarks. I agree that nothing with
adhesive is good for books. Some attorneys have some kind of
obssessive-compulsive thing about them, though, and I believe that you
will never completely rid yourself and your books of them. A good
alternative is to provide bookmarks. My solution has been to recycle
scrap paper into bookmarks. You know, all that leftover Lexis and
Westlaw paper, bad copy jobs, and the like. I just have them cut into
strips and put piles of them almost everywhere. They also double as
notepaper because at least one side of them is almost always blank. This
sounds very similar to what you are doing, but I just wanted to share my
recycling story with you in case you hadn't thought of that.
