Yesterday I posted a rant about ThomsonReuters stealth updating of our Westlaw search interfaces. Looks like posting this Law-Lib did more to get me the solution than multiple contacts with West. A local private law firm Westlaw rep emailed me stating that you can prevent the updating of your newly edited pages by adding the page as an entirely new tab, instead of editing the page supplied by West. I hope this information is helpful to others who may be sharing my frustration. I would also encourage you, if you haven't already tried it, to use the new West editing features to rid your interfaces of unsubscribed databases or just clutter that you don't use even if you are subscribed. You can generate a nice, clean efficiently organized interface. Just remember to add the page as a new tab instead of editing the page supplied by West!

I want to emphasize that my normal dealings with West customer service, reference attorneys, and technical services have always been good. I truly believe that those who work the customer service lines try their best to provide an answer if they are able to determine a solution from the resources and information provided to them. I only feel it's fair to comment on the good, if you can rant on the bad.

I hit Send on this message with trepidation. Yesterday I received more than 100 "Out of Office" reposnses to my message.
