Current status of LexOpus (http://lexopus.wlu.edu) as of July 16, 2009

To date, 367 law journals have logged-in to LexOpus to create accounts.
1327 law journals are receiving weekly lists of uploaded works that are open to journal offers.

On the negative side 168 law journals are not accepting submissions via LexOpus. Many of these are peer-reviewed journals for which LexOpus is less well-suited, but includes some major U.S. law reviews like Harvard, Columbia, Michigan, California, Pennsylvania, NYU, and Minnesota.

Authors have uploaded 119 articles to LexOpus, and subsequently removed two of them. Of the 117 articles, 38 are student works (33% of the total). Hopefully that percentage will not climb any higher--LexOpus aims to offer a venue for student work but would prefer to keep that reasonably proportioned.

11 articles have been accepted for publication via LexOpus.

Most authors uploading articles make them open to offers (in addition to or instead of submitting to specific journals), meaning that they encourage journals to contact them or make offers to them. Only six articles were not coded as open to offers.

Authors have the option of hiding their articles from public view, in which case they can be seen only by those logged-in as journal editors. 91 uploaded articles are publicly viewable, and the authors of 26 articles have chosen to make their articles non-publicly viewable. Therefore anyone connecting to http://lexopus.wlu.edu who is not a journal editor can read the 91 articles but will not be able to search for, or read, the other 26 articles.
