Dear Colleagues,
West Librarian Relations invites you to share your expertise in teaching
legal research and writing!
Perspectives: Teaching Legal Research and Writing is a journal for legal
writing and legal research instructors and law librarians that reaches
an audience of 5,800+ subscribers. Published three times a year,
Perspectives provides a forum for discussing the teaching of legal
research and writing, with a focus on tools, techniques, and theories.
The journal encourages collaboration among librarians and law faculty
who are teachers of legal research and writing.
Perspectives serves a varied audience including new librarians and new
faculty; adjunct faculty; experienced teachers; and writing specialists
at law schools, law firms, and courts. We welcome articles that explain
a teaching technique, examine how teaching decisions affect learning
outcomes, or explore best practices in teaching. Regular columns cover
curricular design, making the most of teachable moments, technology for
teaching, research matters, writing tips, and book reviews.
Recent articles have examined the use of wikis as a teaching and
learning tool; insights from clinical teaching; drafting engaging
appellate advocacy problems; the research value of thesauri; the use of
ongoing student-to-faculty feedback; research and writing
collaborations; how to create online tutorials; and the basics of
foreign law research.
