See pages 246 and 717 of The Yale Book of Quotations for the famous "Socrates quote," in two different versions.

Subject: [LAW-LIB:58438] Quotes needed / "What's the matter with kids today"
I have an attorney doing some speaking and writing on generational issues in the workplace (particularly Gen Y). A lot of what she is seeing is making her wonder whether it is just inevitable that people see their own generation as better than the younger generation. Her request is to find examples of older generations complaining that young 'uns are sloppy, lazy loafers or otherwise "entitled".... She is interested in going back in time for quotations to find examples through history of generations grumbling about the young 'uns.
I have several, but far fewer than I would like. If you know of any offhand, please feel free to pass them along. Thanks.
Also, if you know of any references to baby boomers urging people to do work they liked, rather than earn $$ (and then we can we figure out what the heck happened to them/us?). Thanks again.
