Good afternoon everyone
Here is an interesting question for a Friday afternoon. I have a
library client who is updating a couple of chapters of a book he helped
write.
When he first asked me if I could help him "update" the chapters, I
thought he meant could I use some automated tool that would let him know
if the cases he referenced in those chapters were still good law. Being
a Lexis shop, I used Shepards's BriefCheck and gave my client the
report.
Turns out, this is not what he wanted. He wanted to know if there was a
tool that would add new cases to the chapters he had written that might
be applicable.
To me, this sounds like a pretty tall order for any product and I could
not think of one, but being in this business only two years, there might
be something out there that I have never heard of.
If somebody has an idea about this, please feel free to contact me off
list.
Regards
Eugene
