Hello to returning and new members
The 2009 exchange of duplicates is scheduled to take place on June 3,
2009. Here is the timeline for the Spring exchange:
April 1 - last day for checks
May 1 - Last day to submit duplicates for exchange
May 18, 2007 - Completed list available for searching
June 3, 2007 - Exchange takes place
The exchange takes place annually and is sponsored by the serials
committee of the technical services SIS of the American Association of
Law Libraries (AALL). Participating libraries pay $30 to participate.
Payment is by check. If you cannot pay by check then please give me a
call to make other arrangements: (504)-861-5546. Submitting a list of
your duplicate materials to be offered in the exchange is not mandatory
but increases everyone's odds of getting what they need. Your submission
lists are then consolidated into one BIG list. At a designated date and
time, participating libraries contact each other and exchange their
duplicate periodicals.
The exchange is a good opportunity to get missing issues needed for
binding and to fill gaps in your collection. A registration
form/invoice can be downloaded from

out the form below. And return with your check.
Please email your lists directly to me at: mpope@loyno.edu. The
following would be very helpful:
a) submit as early as possible.
b) send in Microsoft word, excel, access or in the body of your email.
c) refer to the authority list on the website for the correct title
form. (username is Exchange and the password is list07)
d) refer to "Submit Duplicates" for examples of how the list should
look.
