Debrett's Correct Form books are the best source I've found on just this
    subject.
You can pick them up on Amazon. My own copy has been stolen. They tell
you how to address everyone from the King on down. Here's the blurb.

The classic guide to forms of address for more than a quarter of a
    century,
Debrett's classic text ensures that you get it right when it really
matters. Completely updated to include detailed advice on the way we
live now, this brand new format features photography demonstrating
complex forms of address in a way that is simple to follow.

New digital section covering the modern etiquette of e-mail, text
    messaging, BlackBerry(tm) and video conferencing.

Advice on every aspect of family life, including wedding invitations,
thank you letters and special occasions.

Comprehensive guide to forms of address in Britain and overseas,
including academics, legal professionals, the peerage, armed forces, and
    medical, political and religious styles.

    Special section on American usage.

Streamlined and easy-to-follow design featuring full-colour photography
    and sample letters.

Subject: [LAW-LIB:57970] How to address attorneys in other countries

I've been asked to find out how to address attorneys in other countries
(Canada, Switzerland, India, England, Russia, etc.). In the U.S, we use
the term Esquire, which I know has English roots. Is Esquire also used
in the United Kingdom? What about other countries? Is there a
resource, preferably one online, showing how to address attorneys in
    other countries?

I've searched the web and have engaged the services of a few local
libraries, but have not found anything yet. Thank you for assistance.

    Sincerely,

    Beth Langton
