Good afternoon, I am drafting a couple of emails to attorneys about cost
recovery. The first is to reaffirm the firm's commitment to billing
clients for online legal research, and to remind attorneys of the intent
and purpose of our administrative client/matter numbers. The second
email is intended to provide suggestions to attorneys about how they
can/should address the issue when talking to their clients - to satisfy
their clients' concerns as well as get the client to pay for the
services.
Do you have recommendations that you make to attorneys about how to
discuss cost recovery with clients that you would be willing to share?
Anything you'd like to tell them? :-)
Also, in the last couple of years, have you made any changes to how
online legal research costs appear on bills? Ours is fairly cryptic,
and I'm curious if anyone has seen results from improving the cost
description.
I'll summarize results for the list.
Thanks much, Laurie
