Tuesday, Dow Jones & Company, a subsidiary of News Corp. (NWS: News ),
said it has acquired database assets of U.K.-based The Library House Ltd.,
thereby expanding the company's coverage of European venture capital data.
Cambridge, U.K.-based Library House is a provider of data on emerging
private companies in Europe. Dow Jones noted that the transaction with
UK-based administrators Leonard Curtis concluded on December 23, 2008.
The assets are expected to be combined with Dow Jones VentureSource, which
tracks venture capital investment in companies throughout the U.S.,
Canada, Europe, India, Israel and Greater China, and the current database
customers of Library House will become VentureSource customers.
