These are the sources that were suggested:
National Law Journal 2008 survey (but alas, my firm was not part of
the 127 respondents)
American Lawyer Media survey -- 2007 the latest data at this time
but it made my requestor happy (success !)
Check out the Book of Lists for the Bizjournal covering that
geographical area to see if it is there under law firm listings.
Do a search in Pacer for the law firm. When you find a recently
closed case, look for the memo of costs and it will give their billing
rate. The long way around, but it is immediate and cheaper than the NLJ
survey.
Thanks again to everyone who responded !

Subject: [LAW-LIB:57673] Partner Billing Rates
Hi, I've been asked to locate partner billing rates for a particular
firm and I see the recent NLJ survey is available for sale, but I need
it sooner. Does anyone have another source for this information? I've
done some web searching but don't see anything that is that helpful. I'm
focusing on a firm in the AmLaw 200.
Thanks,
Lauri Flynn @ Gunderson Dettmer LLP in Silicon Valley, CA
