Reference/Research Librarian
Holme Roberts & Owen, a prestigious 250+ attorney law firm headquartered in Denver, is seeking a Reference/Research Librarian.
Duties: Provides quick reference and in-depth research service, both legal and non-legal, to all attorneys, legal assistants, law clerks and administrative staff; assists the Library Director in managing and marketing the library; helps develop and maintain library portal and intranet site; assists in library training & orientation; acts as liaison to practice groups to anticipate information needs; participates in professional development activities. Actual duties will depend on the successful candidate’s experience.
Qualifications and skills sought: Masters degree in library science or information management required, JD appreciated; demonstrated commitment to providing superior service and marketing library services; significant reference experience in law or business; demonstrated knowledge of the U.S. legal system and related legal materials; working knowledge of federal and state legislative process as well as non-legal materials and systems; proficiency in searching legal and non-legal online databases, including Lexis, Westlaw and BNA; ability to select the appropriate tool for the circumstances. Excellent oral and written communications skills; ability to work independently and to handle a diverse and demanding workload.
