    Please excuse cross-posting.

I would be most grateful if any UK law-librarian could refer me to the
relevant UK legislation relating to military pensions for ex-
servicemen. The father of a friend of mine served in WW2 as an
infantryman in the British Army. He was a United Kingdom citizen at
that time and served for about 6 or 7 years in England and the
Channel Islands. He contracted meningitis which spread through his
barrack room and left him physically unfit for overseas service. He
migrated to Australia in 1955 and took Australian citizenship in due
course . He receives a small UK age pension as well as an Australian
age pension. He is now in his 90s and most unwell and in difficult
financial circumstances. I am endeavouring to find out whether he
might be entitled to some sort of UK military pension, as his current
medical problems may well be war-related. Any and all assistance will
    be very greatly appreciated indeed.
