How the hell can she(Palin)only want to promote abstinence-only
approaches in school, when obviously her daughter was having premarital
sex. Regardless of whether or not her 17 year old daughter is engaged
(probably by force), the fact still remains that her 17 year old
daughter is a teen parent and her stand is contradictory.
I don't think teaching abstinence-only in schools is wise. That said, she
can certainly preach a point of view different from that which her child
practices. I preach to my kids about getting an education. Is this hypocritical
even though my youngest has chosen not to finish school against my advice?
For the record, my children do not decide my beliefs. Nor should they.
I'm the parent. I told my two daughters before they were teenagers that one day
they would make me choose between being a father or a friend. It was
inevitable and I chose to play my role as parent.
