I recall reading that the SEC does not divulge information on pending
investigations and the following site confirms that - Investigations by the
SEC, http://www.sec.gov/answers/investg.htm. The site also says: "An
investigation becomes public when the SEC files an action in court or in its
internal administrative process." You can find information about public
    enforcement actions <http://www.sec.gov/litigation.shtml> at
http://www.sec.gov/litigation.shtml. I've used court databases, press
releases and news stories to find information about specific companies that
includes SEC litigation. A quick Google search using the terms: sec
investigations press release uncovers some examples on the Web. I also
recommend checking other news and press release databases available from
various aggregators. I use Dialog, Factiva, and LexisNexis for this type of
    research and there are others.

         Colleagues --

This is one of those "there must be a database out there" questions.
The quest is to identify the history of legal difficulties faced by a
company. Searching for litigation, both resolved and pending, is
reasonably straightforward, but I'm also interested in uncovering
investigations from government entities such as the EEOC, the SEC, etc. Any
    assistance appreciated.
