The Law Librarians' Society of Washington, D.C., Inc. is pleased to
announce a new publication on its Legislative Source Book
(http://www.llsdc.org/sourcebook) entitled "An Overview of the
Development of U.S. Congressional Committees" by Michael Welsh, Senior
Legislative Librarian at Pillsbury LLP in Washington, D.C.
The publication is in PDF and is located on the Web at
    http://www.llsdc.org/attachments/wysiwyg/544/Cong-Cmte-Overview.pdf.
It was first developed as a two part article in the Society's
quarterly publication, "Law Library Lights," in 2004. The result of
considerable original scholarship, the publication has gone through
extensive expansions and edits. It is accompanied by a bibliography
and a separate appendix that lists all standing U.S. congressional
committees from 1789 to the present.

We hope you will find Mike's paper educational.
