The ALL-SIS Legal Research & Sourcebook Committee’s “Legal Research
Instruction Roundtable” will be held in Portland on Sunday, July 13, from 12
noon - 1:15 p.m. in room OCC-E145. The Committee invites everyone currently
engaged in teaching legal research, those interested in teaching sometime in the
future, and any and all veteran instructors to join in the active discussions at
our Roundtable event. This year, the topics cover issues we all face every year,
as well as emerging challenges that we are likely to face in the near future.
Come and choose a table, share your experiences and questions, and learn
something new from colleagues teaching at law schools around the country. Topics
include: Teaching Research to Foreign and LL.M. Students; Teaching Introductory
Legal Research; Teaching Advanced and Specialized Legal Research; Effectively
Integrating Legal Research Instruction with Legal Writing; Effectively
Integrating Technology into the Legal Research Curriculum; To Text or not to
Text: A Discussion about Legal Research Textbooks and their Value; and The Role
of Information Literacy in Teaching Legal Research.
The Committee looks forward to another productive and enjoyable exchange of
ideas with our colleagues engaged in research instruction, and, on behalf of the
Committee, I invite you to join us. We hope to see you in Portland!
