Ron,
I actually have a portable microfiche reader! It's not the one that is
featured in the document, but it was, I'm sure, once upon a time, equally
compact and convenient. And yes, you can use it in bed, for those late-night
reviews of the Congressional Record extended remarks.
It was right behind my GAF super 8mm movie projector and my Realistic
cassette recorder (no lie).
Thanks for unearthing this gem of a document. Besides introducing me to the
term boustrophedon (somehow I missed that in all my AV-geek days), I have
never, even in my most fevered reveries, considered microfilm viewing
appliances as cuddly.
