Tarlton Law Library at the University of Texas at Austin seeks a
reference librarian. The ideal candidate will have a strong public
service orientation, excellent writing skills, superior interpersonal
skills, the ability to work effectively with a variety of
constituencies, professional demeanor, and eagerness to learn. We will
be interviewing for this position at AALL in Portland.
Responsibilities include:
Provide research and reference services to School of Law faculty through
the library liaison program.
Provide reference service to students and staff of the School of Law, as
well as to the University community at large and to members of the Bar
and to the general public.
Participate in teaching basic and advanced legal research.
Contribute to instructional and teaching programs in the law school.
Assist in the development of instruction and outreach programs that
educate students and the public in legal research strategies and
sources.
Participate in library orientation programs and conduct tours.
