Heads up! I've been plagued with Lexis IDs mysteriously disappearing
from our accounts. This includes the IDs (hourly and transactional) for
our entire class of first-year associates and one or the other of these
IDs for a handful of recent lateral hires. It isn't consistent.

Our Lexis rep has informed me that this is part of additional new
"security measures" and that inactive IDs will time-out after six
months. This doesn't explain why most of our IDs are still active and
showing up on the list, even for those who've had their IDs for years
    and not used them.

Having Lexis IDs time out after six months is a terrible idea. It
creates more work for those administering Lexis IDs in their firms and
will mean that occasional Lexis users will not have ready access to
Lexis; we'll have to create new IDs each time they want to use the
service which will create unnecessary delays for those needing to do
research. I note that Westlaw does not currently employ these
    draconian "security measures."

Has anyone else run into this problem or heard anything about this new
    approach with Lexis IDs?
