    I got some additional information on my mystery citation, as far as I can tell it is a really old Canadian - possibly Ontario cite:

    Saunderson v Piper, 5 Bing. New Cases 562 (1839)

    I have seen it cited as B.N.C as well as Bing. New Cases

    If anyone might have a copy laying about....
