Thanks to everyone who responded. Seems CCH Pension and Employee
Benefits is the way to go. Here is a breakdown of responses:
For desk reference purposes the pension practice group gets: CCH
Pension and employee benefits: code, ERISA, regulations as of ...
we are in the same boat, but we are subscribing to the electronic
version. however, I think CCH has something and we will also provide
that.
You could try the CCH, 4 volume set published annually, Pension and
Employee benefits: code, ERISA, regulations.
Contents: v. 1. Internal revenue code, regulations -- v. 2. ERISA law
and regulations, related laws, proposed regulations -- v. 3. Preambles
to final and temporary regulations -- [v. 4]. Committee reports.
I think CCH publishers similar books -- Seems on on ERISA but broader in
scope ones possible.
We have ordered the CCH set for our attorneys this year and are
looking at the BNA set to see which publisher our attorneys prefer.
Our attorneys use CCH - you can order the print in the 2 volume set or
as a 3-4 volume set with the Preambles. We've been using these for
years and they just came in on Friday.
Pension and employee benefits code, ERISA, regs, ... 4 or 5 vol. set
from CCH
Would the CCH set meet your needs?

CCH has a comparable product called Pension and Employee Benefits Code.
You can get them in a 4 volume set (including Preambles and Committee
reports) or a smaller set without the Preambles. That what we are going
with. I haven't compared them side by side to the RIA product, but at
least it was something.

Subject: [LAW-LIB:54956] Pension & Benefits Deskset (Preambles) from RIA
no longer being published
I've been contacted by RIA now Thomson, that they are no longer
publishing this 3 volume set which consists of Pension & Benefits Law,
Pension & Benefits Regulations, and Preambles to Pension & Benefits
Regulations. The material will be available online through Checkpoint
at a slightly higher rate than the print. I have attorneys who prefer
the books. Does anyone know of any comparable materials?
Thank you - jill
