Greetings,
We recently received a renewal for the newspaper Bond Buyer with an annual cost of $2399 which seemed pretty high to me. When I questioned such a high price with their customer service, the person told me that the increase had gone up $100 per year historically. I did a little research of our past ten years of this subscription and found that to be untrue. I thought colleagues might be interested in the results:
BOND BUYER Subscription terms annual cost % increase 4/1996-4/1997 $850.00 4/1997-4/1998 $950.00 12% 4/1998-4/1999 $950.00 0% 4/1999-4/2000 $1,050.00 11% 4/2000-4/2001 $1,050.00 0% 5/2001-5/2002 $1,150.00 10% 5/2002-5/2003 $1,250.00 9% 5/2003-5/2004 $1,500.00 20% 5/2004-5/2005 $1,600.00 7% 5/2006-5/2006 $1,997.00 25% 5/2006-5/2007 $2,197.00 10% 5/2007-5/2008 $2,299.00 5% 5/2008-5/2009 $2,399.00 4%
Although no consistent pattern in increases exists from year to year, the price jump in 10 years in enormous. The customer service person referred me to someone who might affect a discount, but that person has not yet returned two calls.
If anyone has suggestions of alternative sources for this bond market information or ways to get better pricing, please let me know.
Thank you.
