This seminar will explain the types of companies (i.e. public, private and partnerships), why companies are created, and how and why they raise capital. In addition, types of US company documents (financial, regulatory and legal filings), types of research, additional company communication channels and where to find SEC filings are explained. There will be several case studies in which participants examine data and determine what type of research it might be useful for and identify the type of filing the data came from.
