I was wondering if someone with access to the Revised Statutes of the
United States, 2d ed. 1878, can tell me if it has a table or fairly easy
way to look up the R.S. section that correlates to Act of Feb. 16,
1875, c 77; 18 Stat.315.
From what I've been able to check thus far (via the internet), I suspect
the act was not carried over to the R.S., and ultimately superseded
and/or repealed by subsequent legislation - prior to the original USC.
...I would like to confirm this.
Background: The act is listed in the tables volume of the current USCA.
However, the corresponding USCA section is "omitted," and the section
language is instead included under "historical and statutory notes," but
it appears to be unrelated to the act. The act is codified in U. S.
Comp. St., 1913 (predecessor to the USCA), Sec.1584-1585, but no R.S.
section is cited there.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
