SEC Rule May Aid Private Placement
Revision could offer boost to life science, tech companies

By Aleksandrs Rozens
November 26, 2007
The Securities and Exchange Commission recently announced changes to how
companies can sell stock or bonds privately, enabling young businesses
such as life sciences and technology companies to raise money from a
broader range of sources at a potentially lower cost. The changes to
Securities Act Rule 144, in most cases, shorten by half the holding
period for restricted securities.
