[LAW-LIB:53980] Filtering out unwanted law-lib messages

Great news!

I've finally figured out how to tell Outlook to block law-lib postings from certain people.

Unfortunately, as many of you have already discovered, just blocking "Jane Smith" as a sender doesn't work because the listserv is considered the actual sender.

However, if a person has a unique name or address, one can create a rule in Outlook that searches for those words in the body of the message.

My filter re-routes targeted messages to a quarantine folder I can review as needed. This is an important step, because this filter also catches any other posts that quote the targeted person/people.

Fellow law-libbers can help by being more selective in their inclusion of quoted material. This is particularly important if they are responding to an original request that others may have also replied to. I'd hate to miss a valuable contribution to the list because it happens to quote another person's less-useful comments.

As an added bonus, I'm sure the digesters will appreciate our efforts, as well!

  Thanks everyone!

  Mickey
