Several of my university's students are trying to cite check a document that
utilizes mostly Canadian resources, and we are running into trouble with
some documents. I am hoping to obtain some help from those who are familiar
with Canadian resources, particularly those familiar with documents from
Quebec.
1. SOQUIJ, autorite parentale, 39 R.D.F. 70, 70 (1995).
It appears that someone tried to Americanize this citation. Unfortunately,
I am unfamiliar with Canadian legal citation. I did try to do a search in
Westlaw and Lexis. I struck out in Lexis, but did come up with a document
in Westlaw with a search for [1995] R.D.F. 39. A document was returned with
the following citation information:
1995 CarswellQue 1961
Droit de la Famille -- 2118
Cour supérieure du Québec
Juge Benoit Morin
Judgment: 4 janvier 1995
Docket: C.S. Kamouraska (Rivière-du-Loup) 250-04-000137-946
I have no idea whether this is the correct document or not (I do not read
French). If it is, could someone please confirm this. If it is not, any
help in locating the document (or an English translation) would be greatly
appreciated.

I tried to translate the information page with Babel Fish for this document
to determine if there was an English translation. The information page did
not indicate one, but I thought that since I was asking for help with the
first citation, I would also ask if anyone knows if there is an English
translation of the above document as well.
