TWO ONE-DAY WORKSHOPS ANNOUNCED
BY BIA SEMINARS
Chicago, September 20, 2007—“Researching
Global Business Information” and “Researching Private Equity” are the subjects
of two one-day workshops to be held by BIA Seminars, a division of Alert
Publications, Inc. on September 27-28, from 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., in Chicago
at Michigan Avenue and Ontario Street, the exact location to be provided with
registration. Sylvia James, a management consultant for over 20 years, will be
the presenter. The fee for each is $325 for Alert Publications, Inc.
subscribers and $350 for non-subscribers. Each seminar will end with a question
and answer period, moderated by Terese Terry of the Wharton School,
University of Pennsylvania. Both seminars are
appropriate for industry financial analysts as well as researchers in all types
of financial and legal institutions.
“Researching Global Business
Information,” September 27, will focus on the wide scope of finding global
business information which has become a daily challenge for business
researchers in all types of organizations. This seminar will provide an
overview and explanation of how to research global business. Attendees will
learn about the background necessary for effective research.
“Researching Private Equity,”
September 28, will address the whole private equity sector and examine the
research methods and sources for this specialized area of corporate finance. Private equity companies
have been investing in new companies and established businesses for many years and
are now firmly in the public eye following the failures of many PE backed start-up companies
during the dot.com boom. Now the re-emergence of very large buyouts is
challenging the future of many listed companies. In this seminar, the whole
private equity sector will be looked at and the research methods and sources
that can be used constructively in this specialized area of corporate finance
will be examined.
The presenter of both workshops,
Sylvia James, principal, Sylvia James Consultancy, United Kingdom. She is an
internationally known lecturer on business research and private equity.
The seminars’ moderator, Terese
Mulkern Terry, is a reference librarian at the Lippincott Library of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
