Greetings:
Putting thank you's to private companies on our county web pages is a
bit tricky (maybe impossible?) and since I didn't want Rachel and
Michael to go unthanked - publicly - here goes:
Thank you Rachel Schultz (new Library Relations Consultant (did I get
that right, Rachel?)) and Michael Saint-Onge (Senior Library Relations
Consultant - who has come to my rescue before) for sending us 200 (I'd
asked for just 50! :-) free Lexis pocket U.S. Constitutions for our
Constitution Day celebrations this year to add to our Constitution Day
Stockpile.
I promise to buy each of them an Oregon microbrew, or other special
local drink of their choice (or even a VooDoo Donut - oh my), if they
make it to AALL 2008 here in Portland next year, or any other time for
that matter.

P.S. If you're wondering, I kept our celebration this year very simple,
but it's amazing how positive and enthusiastic the response was to my
simple plan to hand out constitutions on the courthouse steps at
lunchtime, in my library all day, and at a couple of our local public
libraries. (One person can't be in more than one place at a time - who
knew!)
P.P.S. And if you're wondering about this too, no, Westlaw did not have
any pocket constitutions to send me, it seems because I asked too late
for them to fit the extra request into their printing order for the Fall
law school pocket U.S. Constitution roll out. If you plan to ask them,
give them plenty of notice (July was too late - as you in the academic
law library world know - law school starts in August - yikes).
