Katrina Anniversary

Today's date is one that few people will ever forget. It is the day when,
two years ago, Hurricane Katrina blasted her way into our lives, upsetting
and destroying buisnesses, homes, schools, hospitals, cars, and anything
else that stood in her way.

Many people have not recovered from the storm, either financially,
economically or mentally. But there is a lot of kindness and love that has
been directed toward this part of the country by countless individuals who
volunteered their time or donated money or other materials. Today's New
Orleans Times-Picayune newspaper says it best. On the front page, the
headline is simply, "Thank You." And then the rest of the page is filled
with stories about how small acts of kindness. If you have a second, take a
look. http://www.nola.com/

To all of those on this listserve and in this organization who have donated
time, energy, money, and help to the Big Easy and the Gulf South, I salute
you and also say, "Thank You."
