LAC - Library Associates Companies seeks experienced candidates for the
position of Law Librarian to work in the San Francisco and Palo Alto
offices of a large and growing national law firm. This is a
30-hour/week temporary position with the subsequent possibility of hire.
Applicants must have law library experience.

 

 

primary responsibilities

 

 

* Work in a dynamic, growing firm supporting the research needs of
a diverse group of attorneys and lobbyists;
* Legal, business, marketing and client development reference and
research utilizing electronic and print resources;
* Develop outreach policies and programs to further the research
partnership between the library and the attorneys;
* Work with local database vendors and representatives to set up
training and demonstrations;
* Participate in professional activities, as appropriate,
representing the firm;
* Work with the firm's other librarians in various offices,
including the main office in Los Angeles on special projects, including
web content development for the firm's Intranet.

 

 

qualifications

 

 

* MLIS/MLS;
* 3-5 years of research and reference experience in a law library;
* LexisNexis, Westlaw, Internet, print and other online legal and
business database searching experience;
* Professionalism, excellent customer-service and communication
skills.
