With ALA in D.C. this week there has been lots of press about libraries,
some of it silly
<http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/06/23/AR20070
62301378.html> and some of it serious, but nothing more interesting
than Marc Fisher's "Random Friday Question" in the Washington Post. It
was pointed out on the LLSDC listserv "That the question is even asked
is a little discouraging, but the comments he's received (at the bottom
of the column) are quite heartening."
