Lexis "Full Authority" has been bundled into Shepard's Brief Suite. I
have heard that this version of Full Authority is simply the same as the
earlier 7.1 version with the addition of patches that were installed
over the last several years. There has been no product overhaul. At
Dickstein, Full Authority was an IT software purchase. It was not under
the purview of the Library per se. Now, with Shepard's Brief Suite, as
Lexis spins off various services offering "solutions," this product is
being integrated into more mainstream Lexis. As a result, Full
Authority is now appearing on the Dickstein Library Services radar
screen.

To that end, I am seeking end-user feedback on past or present
experience with Full Authority. Is it a neglected Service that has been
given, as has been alleged, a cosmetic makeover? Are there any
alternatives to Full Authority that anyone can recommend based upon
actual experience? If so, can anyone compare and contrast these
products? What about the over-all Brief Suite product which encompasses
more than Full Authority? Who uses it? I ask since there has been no
mechanism to track usage. Any feedback on these matters is appreciated
greatly.

Thanks,

Joe
