Old product tie-in agreements

Dear colleagues:

One of our librarians is trying to track down some information on an old
movie product tie-in agreement. After the Shirley Temple movie "The
Little Colonel" was released in 1935, 25 manufacturers made "Little
Colonel" items that were marketed to children. Does anyone on the list
have thoughts about where to look? Where there trademark licensing
agencies in 1935?

Thank you.
