Dear Law-libbers who are also InMagic DBTextworks Users:
We are running DBTextworks on two LANs/across a WAN. Three users are on one LAN while two are on the other. We've been experiencing long delays when trying to open DBTextworks or one of its a textbases whenever another person is using the software. It doesn't seem to matter whether the simultaneous user is on the same LAN or not. If you have experienced this or a similar problem, would you please share any solution you have tried, whether it was successful or not?
* I tried switching from Shared Immediate Indexing to Deferred Indexing, but that didn't work.
* We suspected it was the recent change in versions from 9 to 10 that may have caused the problem. We reverted to version 9, and still experienced the problem.
It's been four months, and I'd like to get this resolved. Our in-house tech support hasn't been able to solve this problem despite their best efforts. Mike at InMagic tech support says he doesn't know what's wrong, and has recommended repeatedly that we upgrade to Genie. (I wasn't aware that sales and tech support had merged in Woburn. ;>)) I've played around enough with the puppies, and need the power of the pack. Any suggestions?
