Philadelphia/Princeton Reference Librarian
Dechert LLP has an opening for a new position of Reference Librarian in our Philadelphia and Princeton offices. The ideal candidate will possess a knowledge of legal and non-legal research techniques using print and electronic resources and be familiar with aspects of law library operations.
Responsibilities include being part of the library team in providing legal, corporate, and general reference from both print and electronic resources and billing and invoicing of library material for both offices. The candidate will work with the Philadelphia Senior Librarian in the library maintenance, interlibrary loan, library budget preparation and coordination of evaluation of new acquisition requests for the Princeton office. The Librarian will also be responsible for the coordination of online training for all attorneys and paralegals in the Princeton location. The Librarian will work with library team in the other offices on projects and overflow research.
At the start of this position the Librarian will divide his/her time between the Philadelphia (3 days) and Princeton (2 days) offices in order to become proficient in both locations, and understand the needs of both.
The individual will be a highly motivated team player, a self-starter with knowledge of online sources (Westlaw, LEXIS, LivEdgar, PACER, Courtlink, Hoover's, etc.) and strong research skills. Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills and the ability to work gracefully under pressure is a must.
Required:
MLS with 1-2 years of professional law librarian experience.
