The Law Librarian independently performs a full range of advanced
professional level library tasks in a law library. The selected applicant
will manage the acquisition of new material and deselection of old material;
prepare and revise the Law Library collection development policy; manage
access, collections, and services at branch law libraries throughout Alaska;
select, train, supervise, and evaluate full-time and part-time library
support staff at the Juneau, Ketchikan, and Fairbanks branch libraries;
promote Alaska's law libraries to the judiciary, attorneys, remote
populations, librarians, and the public; prepare print and electronic
information to promote law library services; manage the content, appearance,
and utility of the Alaska Court System and State Law Library web sites; and
respond to reference questions and provide legal research assistance in
person, by phone, and via e-mail.
