Hi All,
We put up a free Web resource of new Federal
Dsistrict Court civil case filings a couple of
weeks ago. This has been posted in some blogs and
newsletters (thanks :) I happy to say that with
the feedback, we fixed it up since the initial
site and over the weekend and released our second
beta of the site.
The URL is:
Here is a quick overview
Multiple Daily Updates - We are updating the
Federal District Court filings database
continuously, with new civil filings from every
court being added multiple times each day.
Case Information - Each case filing has certain
information provided by the courts, including the
party names, the type of case, the cause of
action, the presiding judge, whether a jury trial
has been demanded.
Web Links - For each individual case, we added
links to different online databases (other
filings, blogs, news, Websites, SEC filings)
with searches on the case name and party names.
And we have links directly to the court system
case documents, such as the full docket and
briefs, which you can access with your Pacer
account.
RSS Feeds - The nice part is you can subscribe to
RSS feeds of new cases that meet your
search/filtering criteria, such as state, court,
lawsuit type, or party name (or any combination).
Then when a new case is filed that meets your
criteria is filed; you can receive an automatic
update through your RSS feed without having to
redo the search. You can use your custom Google
home page, MyYahoo!, Bloglines or any number of
different RSS aggregators to keep track of the
new cases.
You can get some more details at the blog post urls below

Right now we are going back to January 1, 2006.
But if there seems to be strong demand to go back
further, we can. My initial view was that this
was a current awareness project on new cases, but
if there is value in having more of the older
cases in the database (beyond just being able to
say we have more) just let me know.
And we will be adding more functionality and features.
Peace,
Tim
