The Faculty Services Department is the primary library contact for all full-time, adjunct and visiting faculty research and document delivery needs.  Under the direct supervision of the Head of Faculty Services, the Faculty Services Librarian manages and trains the department’s research assistants, provides training opportunities for faculty research assistants, develops and maintains relationships with the Law Center Office of Faculty Support, and manages the Library’s faculty document delivery service.  The Faculty Services Librarian also participates in developing marketing and outreach initiatives to introduce and educate faculty about library services.   Duties also include providing general and specialized reference services to faculty and students, research consultations, teaching basic and advanced legal research, and writing research guides. The Faculty Services Librarian participates in the evening and weekend reference desk rotation.   Expected performance includes active participation in the intellectual life and administrative activities of the Law Center, as well as fulfillment of the responsibilities of the position in a superior manner, increasing knowledge and expertise, effectiveness, and where appropriate, scholarship.

 

Required:

M.L.S. degree from an ALA-accredited library school; one to three years academic law library experience, reference, teaching, and supervisory experience required.

 

Preferred:

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
