These organizations have a "foundation code" of 18 in the IRS Business
Master File (BMF). I know the file is accessible online, but I do not
have the software tools needed to 1) download the huge file, and 2)
extract the correct records. I've talked to the IRS (who say there are
only 54 such orgs in the country, but they won't send me the list), and
the file cannot be handled by Excel, even if I could manage to download.
I've also tried Guidestar.
Any ideas?
