This position is located in DOJ's Justice Management Division, Library
Staff, in Washington, D.C.
Provides comprehensive legal and legislative reference services in
information access and dissemination for agency or component libraries
requiring versatility and innovation in adapting and modifying search
methods and techniques.
Provides guidance to library patrons on how to access information
resources, including books, photographs, published and unpublished audio
and video recordings, archival materials, electronic database
information, digital materials, electronic journals, and bibliographic
citations. Searches and locates information from a variety of sources
and electronic databases.
Evaluates the usefulness and usability of databases and software
applications. Works with computer specialists to translate library
requirements into information systems. Analyzes ways in which
information technology can improve workflow, operational duties, or
information services.
Develops the reference collections and the general collections,
including materials in all formats. Utilizes acquisition and collection
development procedures, policies, and responsibilities and regularly
reports on collection development trends and activities.
