I haven't used this database and can't vouch for it but there is a
trial/demo available:
Plant Closings.

*
Approximately 100 new plant closings are reported each month,
representing tens of millions of dollars in potential work.
*
Plant Closings reports are updated twice a month.
*
Access to the Plant Closings reports starts at only $59/month with
no long-term contract requirement, no set-up fees, and no cancellation
charges.
It doesn't say whether they maintain an archival file.

FWIW, I tried a search using selections from the Newswire Group in Dialog,
e.g., PR Newswire, Business Wire, AP, and others. I used plant closing
(truncated) in the title or descriptor fields for the past ten years but the
total number is nowhere near 100 per month.

Although I used remove duplicates, I can't be sure that what has been
removed are in fact all duplicates. It looks like it could be better to
search more broadly in other systems, e.g., Factiva, LexisNexis, and other
Dialog business databases if you don't find an list. There may be synonyms
or alternative terms to consider such as factory closing. I'll appreciate
learning what you find out.

Subject: List of Plant or Factory closures?
We've been asked to find a list of plants or factories in the US which have
been closed or shut-down in the past ten years. Ultimately our requestor
wants a sublist of those companies in which workers were unionized under
specific unions. Does anyone have knowledge of such a list?
Under the WARN Act, companies meeting certain criteria must post advanced
notice of plant closures and I have left a message with the US DOL regarding
the availability of a compiled list.
Since I have yet to hear from them and time is growing short, any guidance
would be helpful.
Thank you.
