Position Available:
Law Librarian (Dallas Office)
Manages all aspects of library operations and information resources. Conducts in-depth legal, business, and client development research for attorneys, clients, and the firm. Provides training for electronic resources and cost effective computer-assisted legal research. Collaborates on library initiatives and services with library staff firm-wide. Participates in Knowledge Management projects. Maintains awareness of emerging trends in technology, reference services, and librarianship. Promotes information resources and services. Supervises technical services work, filings service, and Library Assistant. Additional tasks as assigned.
The ideal candidate will be personable, service and detail oriented, have an ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, have excellent oral and written communication skills, and have a desire to expand task list and job description. 5-7 years of experience in a law firm library preferred. MLS from an ALA-accredited program required.
Strong computer skills and an understanding of cataloging and electronic resource management needed. Expertise in online searching using Lexis, Westlaw, Dialog, and other research platforms required. Experience in the following research areas preferred: federal and state litigation, intellectual property, environment, oil and gas, labor, tax, and securities.
The Dallas library will be relocating within the firm in 2008. This will offer the chosen candidate an excellent opportunity to build a 21st century law library from the ground up. Competitive salary and benefits package.
Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
