Dear Mary Ann,
I just wrote a California supplement to my "Cybersleuth's Guide to the
Internet" book. The supplement covers both legal and investigtive
California Internet websites that are free on the Net. There are
explanations and also screen shots (with annotated "how to use" comment
boxes) for many of the sites. The supplement is 75 pages long, and
instead of creating a print version, I created a CD so users could
easily link to all the sites discussed.
CEB began distributing the book and CD just last week--for $79. Their
description of the book does not mention the CD (they are adding it to
the description one of these days), but trust me, the CD is included--I
attached each one to each book before I shipped them to CEB last week!
To order the book and CD Please see

770&Page=1> &product_id=MI33770&Page=1. If any of you already own the
8th edition of the Cybersleuth book, and would like to order the CD
only, please contact me and I will see if CEB will sell it separately.
I think you will find the book and supplement very useful. In fact, I
just used it to teach a UCLA extension course last week. The book was
updated a few months ago and the supplement is as current as a week ago.
The URLs should be fresh.
Best regards,
Carole

Subject:
One of my attorneys asked me for a referral to a recent book on legal
information available for free on the Internet. He is most interested in
California source, sof course. I used to have books on the subject, but
since the dates of publication were 1995 or 1996, I've long since tossed
them. I've seen items in MELVYL with dates of 2003 and 2004, but I'd be
interested in some recommendations.
Thanks in advance.
