Dear Law-Libers:

I love this list! What a great response I got to my question. I would
like to thank the following people: Dan Campbell, Emily Carr, Kathryn
Hough, Jay Rassin, Mary Rice, and Judith Russell (how often is it that
your reference question is personally handled by the Superintendent of
Documents!)

The answer is that the Office of the Federal Register has not yet
received the signed bill from the White House. Some of the ways to find
out information is to call the Public Laws Update Service at
202-741-6043. You can also call the OFR office at 202-741-6040. (I
called and got a very helpful person on the phone, but alas they can't
assign numbers to a bill they haven't yet received.)

One librarian confirmed that the U.S. Code section being amended is
Section 43 of the Lanham (Trademark) Act of 1946 (15 U.S.C. 1125).
Another reminded me that lists of Public Laws are published in the back
of the Federal Register on an irregular basis.

I was also told to look at Office of the Federal Register's page at
http://www.archives.gov/federal-register/laws/current.html, the
PUBSLAW-L October Archives at
http://listserv.gsa.gov/cgi-bin/wa.exe?A1=ind0610&L=publaws-l, and NARA
OFR Current Session Public Laws at
http://www.archives.gov/federal-register/laws/current.html.

Finally, I was given information on subscribing to the PUBLAWS List
publaws-l@listserv.gsa.gov. It is a bit cumbersome to subscribe, so I'm
including the directions:

To subscribe to this list, go to http://listserv.gsa.gov/cgi-bin/wa.exe.
Click on {Subscriber's Corner} and click {Log IN}. You will be prompted
to create a password. Once you have created the password and confirmed
it, you can subscribe to the list by sending a message to
LISTSERV@LISTSERV.GSA.GOV with a blank subject line. In the body of the
message, write: subscribe publaws-l firstname lastname.

Once again, thank you to everyone who gave me assistance. I really
appreciate your help.

--Bryan
